Trail Description:
This trail isn't shared with motored vehicles, just hikers, horse back riders, and other mountain bikers. The first obstacle is crossing the Beauty Creek (might be ride able late summers early fall) there is a fallen log to cross if you decide not to chance it. The trail is 99% single track with mild grades and fire road crossings. At the first crossing you'll have to turn South (left) onto the dirt road and look for the trail head to the West (right) side of the road, it's hidden so don't go to far. The section crossing the trail head is about an eighth mile to the East (left) on the dirt road and the trail head is South (right). I've only ridden the South side of this hill twice. All I'll say here is ride it, from the end of the trail the only way I know how to return you back to your car is turn around

How to get there:
Take Exit #22 ( highway 97, East side of the lake ) To Beauty Bay Turn East ( left ) on Beauty Creek Road, the trail head is about 3 1/2 miles off highway 97.

A place to park is at the dirt road fork just after the first the cattle crossing. ( you'll be riding road for about three miles, good warm up )

By far the best downhill run I've ridden yet (I just started riding again). Trail can get pretty hairy if it's been raining. Watch out for moose. Pretty well-maintained trail with some really fun stuff on it. Especially if you can get onto the log at the bottom and jump the creek.

park at the campground, ride the pavement to 257, ride up as described to a forest service road. For a hairy loop, turnright, climb road to fork, right descend to caribou trailhead. first 3 miles fun, 2miles terrifying. Trail end at your car. skilled riders only

From the hwy 97 exit its about two miles to Beauty Creek road, which is on the left. The lower trailhead is about three miles from the turn off, go slow because its hard to miss. I propose riding up the road, which is nicely paved, to the trailhead at the top - its about 4 miles and pretty straightforward. When you get to the end of the pavement, go right, then go right again at the next fork, and the trailhead will be on your right about 100 yards past the fork. This trail is what backcountry s/t riding is all about. There is a point where the trail joins a fire road for about 50 yards, go left and then look for the trail to drop off to the right. There were some downed trees shortly after this junction, so watch out. Otherwise, this is a bombing downhill run with a kind creek crossing at the end to test your mettle. So strap it on and git! The only downside is that the trail is not that long...so do it twice!

If you haven’t ridden this trail you should try it. There is one thing the author of this trail descriptiondidn’t mention, there are two places to park One at the trail head (one vehicle only) or the other thatthe author described that is three miles from the trail head. This isn’t a paved road ride like some !diot previous to this comment thinks. There are some technical spots with some good climbs on this trail. The best part, it’s a quiet trailunlike Canfield!!!

I haven't ridden this one, but anyone who thinks that riding on a paved road is mountain biking is full of crap! skip this one and go ride canfield.
